Freddie Mercury was born on September 5th 1946, in Zanzibar.

He was named Farrokh Bulsara and it was only later did he take on the name Freddie Mercury.

He moved to England in 1963 and joined his first proper band 'IBEX' in 1969.

In 1973, he joined up with John Deacon, Roger Taylor and Brian May to form Queen.

Freddie wrote the majority of the bands songs.

These include 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (Best song of all time), 'Killer Queen', 'Somebody to love', 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', 'We Are The Champions', 'It's a hard life', 'Bicycle Race' and 'Living on my own'!

Freddie could play the piano as well...

...Although we muched prefered to hear him sing!

Freddie in a thoughtful look.

Sadly, Freddie Mercury passed away on 24th November 1991, aged only 45.
